Two-Stage Model of Silicate Glass Transition

چکیده
After several decades of study, the nature glass state and transition remains controversial. This work describes a newly proposed two-stage model for silicate transition. The recognizes that there is cooling rate independent critical temperature Tc, separating two regions. coherent structures in regions change along different paths. All observed dynamic features result from structural rearrangements process. According to model, can be recognized as second-order phase following an incomplete first-order will first describe then apply silica glass, well binary ternary transitions.

The glass transition temperature of silicate and borate glasses
The dependence of the glass transition temperature on silicate composition as well as on borate composition is discussed. Some new experimental results on borosilicate glass-enamels are put together with the existing literature data. It is demonstrated that in the glass transition interval the activation energy E(Tg) for viscous flow is related to the glass transition temperature. The activatio...
متن کاملDynamic glass transition in two dimensions.
The question of the existence of a structural glass transition in two dimensions is studied using mode coupling theory (MCT). We determine the explicit d dependence of the memory functional of mode coupling for one-component systems. Applied to two dimensions we solve the MCT equations numerically for monodisperse hard disks. A dynamic glass transition is found at a critical packing fraction ph...
متن کاملIsing model of a glass transition.
Numerical simulations by Tanaka and co-workers indicate that glass-forming systems of moderately polydisperse hard-core particles, in both two and three dimensions, exhibit diverging correlation lengths. These correlations are described by Ising-like critical exponents, and are associated with diverging, Vogel-Fulcher-Tamann, structural relaxation times. Related simulations of thermalized hard ...
متن کاملThe glass transition in a simple model glass: numerical simulations
In order to improve our understanding of the glass transition we performed constant-energy molecular dynamics simulations on a soft-sphere system quenched from the liquid state to zero temperature. The temperature dependence of static (radial pair distribution function) and dynamic quantities (self-diiusion constant) has been investigated together with the temperature evolution of relevant stru...
متن کاملMechanical response of sodium silicate glass
We propose a new method using coarse-graining and molecular dynamics to calculate structural and mechanical properties for sodium silicate glasses at different scales. Using this method we were able to describe the mechanical behavior of the material, this way a new constitutive model was developed which could be used in continuum calculations.
